Risa Tyo has spent 33 years in pharmacy, biotechnology, and as an independent consultant for biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Risa graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State in 1989 with a BS in Pharmacy and received a doctorate in pharmacy from Creighton University. She and her staff are members of the Alliance of Pharmacy Compounding. Risa has worked as a staff pharmacist and pharmacy manager in both retail and managed care pharmacies. Her experience also includes working in pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in pharmacovigilance and medical affairs as medical science liaison (MSL), an MSL manager, an associate medical director, and as a medical director. She has medical affairs and research experience in the areas of dermatology, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Crohn's Disease, Spine, and Interventional Cardiology. In 2022 Mindful Pharmacy purchased DFW Prescriptions. Mindful Pharmacy has continued to build on DFW Prescriptions Personal Injury and Workers Compensation as well as expanding pain management compounding business to include dermatology, cosmetic and plastic surgery. Risa has a desire to find new and innovative compounds to help patients with medical as well as cosmetic dermatology issues that prevent them from living their life to their fullest. This passion stems from her personal experience with her husband's immunocompromised immune system.
Amy Watts has been actively working in the field of pharmacy since 2008. She graduated from Texas Tech University School of Pharmacy in 2014 with her Doctorate of Pharmacy. During her time as a pharmacist, she has worked in both retail and hospital settings. Amy is certified in Travel Health, Diabetes Education, and immunizations. Her experience includes working as a clinical retail pharmacist, manager of a retail pharmacy, transition of care pharmacist and has 4 years of experience focused specifically on dermatology. As a clinical pharmacist and a transition of care pharmacist Amy was responsible for providing disease state and medication education on diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension, high cholesterol, heart failure, and smoking cessation.
Throughout her years in pharmacy, Amy has seen how difficult it can sometimes be for people to have access to medications, especially specialty medications such as dermatology products. Therefore, Amy is passionate about ensuring that the patients of Mindful Pharmacy have access to high quality dermatology solutions at a price that can fit their budget.
When not at work, Amy can be found spending time with and taking care of her family. Amy is married with 2 children and a dog, named Einstein. She also enjoys relaxing with a good book and Mexican food.
Sandi Wallace began her pharmacy career with DFW Prescriptions in 2015, where she gained experience with Personal Injury and Workers Compensation as well as preparing sterile and non-sterile compounds for pain management. She is an Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician. Her training includes sterile compounding and certification through The National Pharmacy Technician Association (NPTA). She received her Board Certified Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician (BCNCPT), Board Certified Nonsterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician (BCNCPT), and Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv) certifications through the Board of Pharmacy Technician Specialties (BPTS). Sandi's passion is to enhance the lives of patients, continually improve her pharmacy compounding techniques, and push herself to keep up with the latest compounding technology. Her desire is to prepare compounds that benefit patients by helping prevent skin cancer, helping combat pain associated with personal injury and dermatology procedures, and that enhance patient's complexions and emphasizing the beauty that lies within us all.
When not at work, Sandi enjoys doing crafts, scuba diving, and hanging out with her dog, husband and two sons.
